Phase 1: EPLAN Electric P8 Interface & Page Management
Introduction to CAE & EPLAN: Understanding Computer-Aided Engineering workflows, data-driven design philosophy, and workspace customization.
Project Creation & Structure: Setting up electrical projects using standard templates, configuring structure identifiers, and managing project properties.
Page Types & Management: Creating schematic pages, overview pages, title sheets, and organizing multi-page project navigators.
Graphical Editing Fundamentals: Drawing connections, inserting text, working with coordinate systems, grid controls, and graphical shapes.
Phase 2: Schematic Design, Symbols & Macro Technique 05. Working with Symbols: Inserting standard electrical symbols (IEC/NFPA), managing device tags (DT), and configuring component properties. 06. Potentials & Target Tracking: Defining potential definition points, handling interruption points across multiple pages, and establishing connection logic. 07. Macro Technology & Variants: Creating window macros, page macros, defining macro variants, and implementing reusable placeholder objects. 08. Cross-Referencing Devices: Automatically generating cross-references for contactors, relays, auxiliary contacts, and main vs. auxiliary functions.
Phase 3: Terminals, Cables & Parts Management 09. Terminal Diagram & Strip Design: Modeling multi-level terminals, configuring terminal strips using the terminal navigator, and assigning accessories. 10. Cable Definition & Routing: Drawing cable definition lines, assigning conductor properties, managing source/target selections, and shielding logic. 11. Parts Master Data (Data Portal): Navigating the EPLAN Data Portal, downloading manufacturer components, and linking physical parts data to schematic symbols. 12. PLC Interfacing & Configuration: Modeling PLC cards, assigning digital/analog inputs and outputs, managing rack configurations, and configuring I/O addressing.
Phase 4: Panel Layout, Reports & Project Publishing 13. 2D Cabinet Panel Layouts: Placing mounting panels, drawing cable ducts, mounting rails, and positioning physical component footprints accurately. 14. Automated Report Generation: Creating bills of materials (BOM), terminal diagrams, cable overviews, manufacturing cutting lists, and connection lists. 15. Error Checking & Project Validation: Running automatic check-of-routing procedures, resolving logic conflicts, and correcting device tagging errors. 16. Project Archiving & Final Portfolio: Exporting smart PDFs with active hyperlinks, generating DXF/DWG outputs, and compiling a complete industrial automation control panel design portfolio.
